Overview: The eufy Video Doorbell E340 (Model T8214) features dual cameras to give you a better view of who or what is at your front door. The front camera aims straight ahead to record visitors to your door, and a second camera aims toward the floor so you can see any delivered packages. The versatile Video Doorbell operates either on battery power or existing doorbell wiring. It has 8 GB of built-in storage, or you can pair it with HomeBase S280 (HomeBase 2) or HomeBase S380 (HomeBase 3), both sold separately, for additional video storage. The doorbell camera also has a dual light system to illuminate your door area for extra security. Dual Cameras: The Video Doorbell E340 produces beautiful 2K HD video through its main camera. Its 4:3 aspect ratio (2048 x 1536) provides an expanded field of view, particularly vertically, which gives you a full head-to-toe view of your visitors. The camera features HDR (High Dynamic Range), which lets you see sharp details, especially with a brightly lit background. Its down-facing camera has a resolution of 1600 x 1200, and gives you a view of the floor in front of your door so you can see packages that have been delivered. The Video Doorbell has a microphone and speaker to allow you to communicate with visitors through two-way audio.

Color Night Vision: The dual light system, along with built-in infrared LEDs, give the Video Doorbell improved Color Night Vision. Advanced light capturing and an improved processing algorithm help you enjoy clearer nighttime video at a distance of up to 16 feet (5 meters).

Mounting: The doorbell comes with a bracket for surface-mounting the doorbell. The recommended mounting height is 48" from the ground. A 15° mounting wedge is provided to aim the camera toward the center of the door, which may provide a better viewing angle of a visitor at your door. When you have determined the mounting location, you can mark the screw holes using the provided Screw Hole Positioning Sticker. Screws and wall anchors are provided for mounting the bracket to the wall. Tools required for mounting the doorbell include a Phillips-head screwdriver, a power drill, and a 15/64" (6mm) drill bit. The Video Doorbell E340 is IP65-certified weatherproof, and operates in extreme temperatures from -4° and +122°F (20°C to 50°C).

Motion Detection: The Video Doorbell E340 alerts you when someone approaches your door. Passive infrared (PIR) motion detection scans the area in front of the camera for body heat and movement. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and a sophisticated algorithm built into the system can instantly analyze the body shape and face patterns of approaching visitors to detect only human activity. Using the eufy Security app, you can program the system to recognize specific individuals such as family members. eufy Security\’s Delivery Guard feature uses AI technology to recognize when packages are laid at your doorstep, and will periodically notify you until you pick it up. In the Eufy Security app, you can adjust the detection sensitivity and draw customized motion detection Activity Zones to eliminate false alerts from high traffic areas on the street or sidewalks.

Chime Options: You can pair the Video Doorbell with an external chime so you can hear alerts throughout your home. Compatible chimes include eufy HomeBase Mini (T8023) and HomeBase 3 (Homebase S380), as well as Amazon Alexa and Google Voice Assistant devices.

Power Options: The Video Doorbell E340 offers two power options: battery and wired. If you don\’t have existing doorbell wiring, you can operate the camera on its removable rechargeable battery (T8743). A fully charged battery will last approximately 6 months, based on 10 doorbell events per day, and each recording lasting about 20 seconds on average. You can charge the battery with the included USB cable and a 5V USB power port in approximately 5 hours. Having a fully charged spare quick-change battery lets you instantly swap out the battery to avoid downtime. The Video Doorbell E340 can also be powered by existing doorbell wiring (8-24V AC). The wiring keeps the battery fully charged so it can provide backup power in case of a power outage. A hardwired connection also enables Pre-Roll Recording, which can capture crucial seconds of video of motion events before the camera triggers a recording.

Video Storage: The doorbell camera features 8 GB of local video storage on an embedded MultiMediaCard (eMMC) which can save up to 60 days of event-based recordings. There\’s no need to pay for cloud storage. The onboard storage is protected with AES 128-bit encryption, so your data remains private. Additional storage is available when the Video Doorbell E340 is paired with an optional eufy HomeBase 3 (HomeBase S380). The HomeBase has 16 GB of storage built-in, and you can add a storage drive to expand the capacity to up to 16 TB. This will give you years of video storage from your Video Doorbell E340 and other compatible eufy cameras.

Eufy Security App: The Eufy Security app lets you view live video from your smartphone or tablet, plus engage the visitor at your door through two-way audio. You can respond to visitors with 6 pre-recorded Quick Replies if you don\’t want to engage with your visitor live. The app is compatible with Android devices running operating system 8.0 and up, and iOS devices running iOS 11.0 or later. The Video Doorbell can be viewed on a web portal instead of your phone, on PCs (Windows 10 or 11), and on Macs running macOS 11.0 or later and a Mac with Apple M1 chip. Cloud storage can be purchased through the app, if desired, for $2.99 per month or $29.99 per year for one device.

Voice Assistants: The eufy Video Doorbell E340 can be connected to Amazon Alexa or the Google Assistant so you hear the doorbell chime and audio alerts anywhere in your home. Smart displays, such as the Google Nest Hub or the Amazon Echo Show, can "show you the front door" when asked by voice command, letting you view live video from the Video Doorbell.
