Overview: Nanoleaf Canvas Light Squares are modular backlit smart light panels that can be connected together to create designs on the walls and ceilings of your home. Canvas light panels connect to each other via Linkers. This Smarter Kit (NL29-0003SW-9PK) contains 9 square light panels, including one controller panel, 8 Linkers, 28 dual-sided adhesive tabs, and a power supply. You can expand this Smarter Kit with Canvas Expansion Packs (sold separately), which give you 4 additional light squares for creating larger designs. A total of up to 25 Canvas square panels can be connected to a single 24W power supply.

Light Square Output: Each Canvas square smart light panel outputs a total of 44 lumens of light. The RGBW panels can produce more than 16 million vivid colors. The Color Temperature can be adjusted from 1200K to 6500K.

Wi-Fi: Canvas panels connect directly to your Wi-Fi network (2.4 GHz b/g/n) without the need for a hub or bridge. The Controller Panel can act as a local network hotspot without an Internet connection to allow you to use the Nanoleaf app to control your light panels without a router or access point.

Control: Nanoleaf Canvas Light Squares can be controlled in a variety of ways. The panels are touch-sensitive so that you can control the lights with swipes or taps. The Control Square is the brain and includes basic controls and shortcuts: Power on/off, Dim/Brighten, Color Scenes, Shuffle Scenes, and Rhythm Scenes. You can use the Controller\’s touch buttons to execute advanced commands by holding buttons or tapping two buttons simultaneously. Canvas can be controlled wirelessly through the Nanoleaf mobile app (iOS, Android) or desktop app (Mac, PC). The light squares are also compatible with Apple HomeKit (Siri), Amazon Alexa, and Google Assistant for control by voice.

Screen Mirror: The Screen Mirror feature enhances your entertainment or gaming experience by mimicking the colors on your screen onto the Canvas light squares. Screen Mirror requires the Nanoleaf Desktop app for setup and control. Downloading the app to your desktop requires Windows 10 and up or macOS 12 or later.

Rhythm Scenes: The Canvas Light Squares can react to sound and music. When the Rhythm Music Visualizer is activated via the Controller or app, the lights sync with, and dance to, your favorite music.

Nanoleaf App: The Nanoleaf app allows you to design, setup, and control your Nanoleaf lights from the palm of your hand. The app features a Layout Assistant to help you design your light panels and choose colors for a custom configuration. You can choose from multiple lighting scenes or create your own custom color layout using the intuitive color wheel. The lights can be automated into set schedules for your daily lighting needs, such as dimming at night or gently brightening as you wake up. Connect your lights with your smart home voice assistant, such as Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, or Siri (Apple HomeKit), and use voice commands to control them hands free. Nanoleaf products also work with IFTTT, Samsung SmartThings, and Razer Synapse. The Nanoleaf app is available for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch running iOS 14.0 or later, and smartphones and tablets running Android 9.0 and up. Apps for Windows PCs (Windows 10/11) and Macs (macOS 12 or later) are also available.

Installation: Nanoleaf Canvas panels should only be installed indoors on a flat surface that can support the weight of the panels. The wall should be dry and free of oils and dust. The panels are mounted to the wall using the included dual-sided adhesive tabs (3 per panel recommended). The mounting tabs are not recommended for textured, porous, or popcorn surfaces, or if you\’re mounting the panels on the ceiling. An optional Screw Mount Kit is available from the manufacturer, if needed. The panels are connected together edge-to-edge using the provided rigid Linkers. The Power Supply has an 8-foot power cord that connects to one of the panels. It is recommended that you design your layout on a table or floor before mounting to the wall to make sure the design works the way you want. You should measure the height and width of your design to make sure it fits into your space. QR Codes for pairing your Canvas to the Nanoleaf App can be found on the Power Supply and Controller Panel, as well as printed on the front cover of the Quick Start Guide.
