Overview: The iRobot Roomba® Combo j9+ (c975020) is combination robot vacuum and mop with powerful suction for picking up ground-in dirt, pet hair, and other debris, plus an effective mopping solution, to keep your floors and carpets clean. After cleaning your home, the Combo j9+ empties its dirt bin into the Clean Base® Auto-Fill Dock, refills the cleaning solution, and recharges its battery. The Combo j9+ connects to your home\’s Wi-Fi network through the iRobot Home app, and works with your favorite voice assistants for hands free control. The unit comes with 2 reusable mopping cloths, a spare Edge-Sweeping brush and High-Efficiency filters.

4-Stage Cleaning System: The Roomba Combo j9+ cleans your floors effectively with its premium 4-Stage Cleaning System. It starts with Dual Multi-surface Rubber Brushes that tackle tough dirt and grime on any surface. One brush loosens the dirt while the other lifts. The Roomba automatically adjusts for hard surfaces or carpet, so there\’s no need to change the settings. The rubber brushes stay in contact with wood, tile, and carpet to pick up the dirt more efficiently than bristles. In addition, they avoid tangles from human and pet hair, so there\’s less maintenance. A rotating Edge-Sweeping Brush sweeps dirt, pet hair, and dust from along the wall edges and in corners. The Combo j9+\’s power-lifting Suction, 100% stronger than Roomba\’s i-series vacuum, pulls the dirt and debris up into the removable dirt bin. SmartScrub moves the Combo j9+ back and forth for deep scrubbing to clean stubborn messes and stains.

Mopping: In addition to its powerful vacuum, the Roomba Combo j9+ has an effective and efficient Auto-Retract Mopping System for your hard-surface floors. With D.R.I. (Dry Rug Intelligence), Roomba knows where your carpets are, and automatically lifts the mopping head to the top of the robot to prevent getting your carpets wet. While it\’s mopping, Roomba exerts downward pressure to clean your floors. The SmartScrub feature runs the mop back-and-forth with 1.16 pounds of downforce to scrub tough messes like coffee or grime. Two reusable cloth mopping pads are included with the Combo j9+.

Navigation: Advanced technology and algorithms are used to learn your home and create maps for consistent cleaning every time. With Imprint® Smart Mapping and PrecisionVision Navigation, the Roomba Combo j9+ accurately maps out your floorplan and automatically labels the room types, while recognizing and avoiding common objects in its way, like cords, socks and shoes, and even pet waste. In the iRobot Home app, you can designate certain rooms or areas as Clean Zones (like under the dining room table) or Keep Out Zones (near your pet\’s food and water bowls).

Dirt Detective: iRobot OS is the exclusive operating system for Roomba and determines when, where, and how their robot vacuums clean your home. Its newest version, iRobot OS 7.0, introduces Dirt Detective to clean your home more efficiently. Dirt Detective automatically prioritizes the dirtiest rooms and selects the ideal settings for each job. Each time it cleans, Roomba Combo j9+ learns what type of floor surface is in each room, and how much dirt is typically found. The number of cleaning passes and suction level is automatically set for each room. It learns your cleaning habits, and can make cleaning suggestions, even initiating cleaning jobs while you\’re away.

Clean Base® Auto-Fill Dock: The Combo j9+ includes the Clean Base Auto-Fill Dock which not only empties the vacuum\’s dust bin, but can refill the mop\’s cleaning solution when needed. At the end of a job, or when the removable bin becomes full, Roomba returns to the Clean Base where the contents of the dirt bin are automatically emptied into the base. The bin holds up to 60 days of debris in its disposable bag. When the bag becomes full (indicated by a glowing red LED on the front panel), simply remove the self-sealing bag, dispose into the trash can, and put a new one in the base. The dock also has a water tank that automatically refills the mop\’s reservoir after a cleaning job. The tank contains enough solution to refill the Roomba for up to 30 days. Each time the Roomba docks in the Clean Base, it recharges its battery. The Clean Base should be placed in an area with no obstacles within 1.5 feet to either side, or within 4 feet in front. To prevent the robot from falling downstairs, Clean Base should be placed at least 4 feet from stairs.

Pet Owner Official Promise: With the purchase of a new Roomba Combo j9+ robot vacuum, iRobot offers the Pet Owner Official Promise (P.O.O.P). If the robot vacuum becomes soiled due to a failure to avoid solid cat or dog waste, iRobot will provide you a free replacement product for the first year of ownership. Reactive Sensor Technology: The robot 2-in-1 vacuum/mop is equipped with numerous sensors to help it maneuver the natural obtacles in your home while it cleans. The front of the unit has a camera that detects new objects in its path, and sends photos to the app to get your response. If the unit bumps into a chair leg or wall, the impact is softened by the smart bumper on the front, and a sensor causes it to turn away from the obstacle. Four "cliff sensors" along the front and sides let the vacuum know that it is nearing a dropoff, such as stairs or a balcony, and the unit will back away from the ledge. A Wall Follow Sensor allows the Roomba to follow the path of the wall as it cleans. Other sensors also detect the clearance under chairs and couches so the vacuum doesn\’t get hung up.

Onboard Controls: The Combo j9+ has a single onboard control button on the top. One press wakes up the vacuum to begin cleaning, or to pause and resume. Holding the button down for 2-5 seconds during a cleaning session ends the job and sends the robot vacuum back to the charging station.

Regular Maintenance: Periodically, Roomba needs regular care and cleaning to maintain optimum performance. The dirt bin should be rinsed out with water as needed. The High-Efficiency Filter should be gently cleaned once a week–more frequently if you have pets. It should be replaced every couple of months. The Full Bin sensor and Front Caster Wheel need cleaning every two weeks. The Edge-Sweeping and Multi-Surface brushes require cleaning every month, and replaced every 12 months. The camera window, sensors, and charging contacts should be wiped clean once a month. The mopping pad should be cleaned (hand-washed or machine-washed in warm water) after every mopping job.

Power: The Roomba Combo j9+ is powered by a user-replaceable Lithium-ion rechargeable battery. The battery fully charges in approximately 2 hours while docked in the Clean Base. Initially, the battery should be charged at least 3 hours. The Combo j9+ supports Recharge and Resume. When the battery is running low, the vacuum returns to the charging station to recharge, then picks up where it left off, until the task is complete. The battery should last up to 400 charge cycles before being replaced with a new battery obtained from the manufacturer.

Wi-Fi: The Combo j9+ connects to your home\’s 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz Wi-Fi network. You can control it with the iRobot Home App on your smartphone or tablet.

iRobot Home App: The iRobot Home app is essential to the operation of the Combo j9+. With the app loaded to your smartphone or tablet, you can choose when and where to clean, and create custom cleaning schedules. When cleaning is complete, you can view a Cleaning Report in the app, showing the date and time of the cleaning job, the length/duration, and total area (square feet) cleaned. The app learns your scheduling preferences, and can even suggest extra cleanings during peak pollen season, or when your pets typically shed the most. iRobot Genius Software updates are available through the app, and can be downloaded to the Roomba. These updates can add new features, as well as fix bugs, and keep it up to date. It is highly recommended that you run a software update before its first cleaning job. The iRobot Home app works with iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 15.0 or later, and with iPad with iPadOS 15.0 or later. It is also compatible with Android devices (version varies with device).

Voice Assistants: The Combo j9+ can be operated by voice command through your favorite Voice Assistant. You can ask Amazon Alexa, Siri, or Google Assistant to ask Roomba to start cleaning, and the robot vacuum/mop will begin a cleaning cycle.
