Features
Overview: The NuvōMed Blood Oxygen Audible Fingertip Pulse Oximeter (TOS-6/0925) is designed to measure your hemoglobin saturation or blood oxygen level (SpO2) and pulse rate through the finger. You can read your results on the large, easy-to-read, color TFT LED display, or let the built-in talking function read your results to you. The pulse oximeter is powered by two "AAA" batteries (included). The package also includes an easy-to-carry lanyard.
Measurement Modes: The pulse oxymeter can measure your SpO2 continuously or as a single reading. The mode can be changed in the menu.
Display: During measurement, the 1" display (measured diagonally) indicates the following:
- Hemoglobin Saturation (SpO2): a measurement of the amount of oxygenated hemoglobin in relation to the total hemoglobin present. The SpO2 is expressed in large numbers as a percentage.
- Pulse Rate: a measurement of your heart rate, or the number of times your heart beats per minute. The pulse rate is expressed in large numbers in beats per minute (bpm).
- Plethysmogram: a graphic indication of the heart rate and blood flow, shown along the bottom of the display.
- Perfusion Index (PI): The Perfusion Index (PI) is an indication of the pulse strength at the sensor site. The PI is displayed in small numbers between the Sp02 and pulse rate readings. PI values range from 0.02% (very weak pulse) to 20% (extremely strong pulse).
- Timer: When your measurement begins, the display will show a 30 second countdown in red in the upper right corner to indicate how much time is left in this measurement. If the unit is set to continuous measurement, the countdown display will show "00."
- Battery Indicator: The battery strength is indicated as a segmented battery icon at the top of the display. When only one segment is displayed, the batteries should be replaced with fresh ones.
Countdown: When you insert your finger in the pulse oxymeter, the unit will announce and begin a 30 second countdown (single measurement mode only). During the measurement, you should remain still until the countdown has reached zero. Your SpO2 and pulse rate will be reported, and the unit will automatically shut off.
Memory: The pulse oxymeter will store and display the last 12 pulse rate and blood oxygen readings. The readings are shown four to a page, and you can cycle through the pages as needed.
Ranges: The NuvōMed Pulse Oxymeter can display your blood oxygen level from 0% to 99% in 1% increments with an accuracy of ± 2% between 70% and 100%. It can display your pulse rate from 30 bpm (beats per minute) to 250 bpm at 1 bpm increments with an accuracy of ± 3 bpm.
Alarm: Readings outside of the preset range for blood oxygen or pulse rate will trigger an audible alarm. The upper and lower limits of each can be manually set by the user in the menu. The default limits for hemoglobin saturation are 100% (upper) and 94% (lower). The preset limits for pulse rate are 130 bpm (upper) and 50 bpm (lower), by default.
Auto Shutoff: To save battery power, the pulse oxymeter will automatically shut off when the product is not in use for longer than 16 seconds.
