Features

Overview: The Yale Assure Lever Touchscreen with Z-Wave Plus (YRL226-ZW2) is a push-button lever lock for single-hole doors (without a separate dead-bolt), including side entries, garages, basements, and more. The lock offers keyless entry through the use of the backlit touch-sensitive keypad, or keyed entry, if desired. One key is included. The lever lock includes the Yale Smart Module with Z-Wave technology to integrate the lock into compatible home automation and alarm systems. You can store up to 250 unique entry codes, between 4 and 8 digits, to gain entry to your door. The Yale Assure smart lock is powered by 4 "AA" alkaline batteries (included). The Assure Lever Touchscreen comes with a Satin Nickel, Oil Rubbed Bronze, or Black Suede finish and is covered by a Limited Lifetime warranty for the finish and mechanical operation of the lock. The electronics are covered for one year.

Door Compatibility: You can install the Yale Assure Lever Lock on doors with a thickness of 1-3/8" to 1-3/4". The door should have a backset distance of 2-3/8" or 2-3/4" (from the edge of the door to the center of the bore hole), with a face bore hole of 2-1/8" and an edge bore hole of 1".

Installation Overview: The Yale Assure Lever Touchscreen fits left-handed or right-handed doors. Once you have removed the existing door hardware, you should use the included template to be sure your door is compatible (with the proper door thickness, backset placement, and bore hole size). The new latch and strike plate are installed in the bore holes. There are two components of the door lock — the external escutcheon with the touchscreen, and the internal escutcheon with the battery compartment and Smart Module. The external unit is mounted to the door and attached to the inside mounting plate on the other side with the long through screws. The two units plug together via the 10-pin cable attached to the touchscreen unit. The internal escutcheon mounts to the mounting plate via two short screws. Once the levers and other hardware are installed and tested mechanically, you can install the 4 "AA" batteries into the slot in the battery compartment.

Yale Assure Lock Features: The Yale Assure Lock offers the following general features:

  • Master Entry Code: The Lever Lock is protected by a Master Entry Code which must be created before you can program the lock. The code should be between 4 and 8 digits. You can create unique entry codes for friends and family and remove codes whenever you need to.
  • Automatic Re-lock: You can program the Lever Lock to automatically re-lock after a preset amount of time: 30 seconds, 60 seconds, 2 minutes, or 3 minutes. The default setting is "disabled."
  • Inside Indicator Light: The indoor escutcheon has an LED indicator to show you at a glance if the door is locked or unlocked. The default setting is "enabled."
  • One Touch Locking: When the latch is retracted, you can press any key on the touchscreen to immediately lock the door. The default setting is "engaged."
  • Audio Mode: When an Entry Code is entered correctly, the Lever Lock will sound a confirmation tone. If you wish to defeat the tones, you can disable the feature through programming.
  • All Code Lockout: This mode restricts access to all users except with the Master Entry Code. When one of the other Entry Codes is entered, the touchscreen flashes 8 times, and beeps 3 times.
  • Shutdown Time: The lock will shut down for 60 seconds and not allow operation after the incorrect code entry limit has been reached (5 attempts).
  • Battery Backup: If the lock\’s batteries are exhausted, you can gain entry with the use of the included key. You can also touch a 9-volt battery to the battery contacts on the touchscreen to temporarily power the lock to gain entry.
  • Grade 2 Rated: The Yale Assure Lock is certified as a Grade 2 lock by ANSI for construction and durability. Grade 2 locks require a key in knob/lever, and must hold up to 225 lb-in. It must also complete 400,000 operating cycles without fail during testing.

The Smart Module features wireless Z-Wave technology and connects to compatible Z-Wave smart home hubs, including Ring Alarms, Samsung SmartThings, Wink, Arlo, Honeywell, and ADT.
