Overview: The Homedics Smart Air Purifier (AP-C500) is designed for extra-large spaces, such as great rooms and large offices or bedrooms. The air purifier features a large front panel air intake with 4-way filtration to remove up to 99.97% of airborne allergens. It can change the air every 12.5 minutes in a 553 square foot room, or once an hour in a 2679 square foot room. You can fill your room with a relaxing fragrance by adding essential oils to the provided pads. The wide tower-style AP-C500 is equipped with Wi-Fi, and can be controlled via Alexa and Google voice assistants. It comes with two replaceable HEPA filters, 3 aroma pads, and has a 6-foot AC power cord.

4-Way Purification: The Smart Air Purifier features 4-in-1 purification:

• Pre-Filter: The pre-filter captures fur, hair, and larger airborne particles.
• True HEPA Filter: A replaceable 360° HEPA filter removes up to 99.97% of airborne allergens (pollen, dust, germs, pet dander, mold spores, smoke) as small as 0.3 microns (from air that passes through the filter).
• Carbon Filter: The Carbon Filter reduces common household odors such as pet, bathroom, laundry, diaper pail, cooking, and smoke. It also reduces VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) from the air, including formaldehyde, toluene, and fumes from gasoline, paints, stains, and pesticides.
• UV-C Technology: A user-replaceable UV-C bulb reduces E. coli bacteria, Phi-X174 virus, A. niger mold, and P. citrinum fungus in the air.

Replacement Filters: When a filter need to be replaced, "F-1" will flash on the digital display. The AP-C500FL replacement filters (sold separately) can be user-replaced through the removable front panel. For optimum use, the filters should be replaced every 12 months under normal usage conditions, based on 12 hours of use per day for 365 days. After replacing the filters, you should reset the filter timer by pressing and holding the Power button until the "F-1" display goes out. For best performance, you should remove the filter and vacuum the front layer (pre-filter) once a month. In addition, the Particle Sensor, located on the back of the purifier, should be cleaned once a month using the brush attachment of your vacuum cleaner.

Oil Tray: The Smart Air Purifier has a rear-mounted oil tray and three aroma pads for delivering scents into the room. You should add 5-7 drops of essential oils (not included) to the aroma pad only. Because of their strong sense of smell, the use of essential oils around pets is not recommended.

Fan Speeds: The air purifier has four available speeds–1, 2, 3, and 4. The higher fan speed purifies the air faster than the low speed, however, the noise level is much higher. The Auto Mode setting chooses the fan speed automatically, based upon the indoor air quality, measured by the Particle Sensor. The room air quality PM2.5 particle value is color-coded as follows:

• Green: Good (fan speed 1)
• Yellow: Moderate (fan speed 2)
• Orange: Unhealthy for sensitive groups (fan speed 3)
• Red: Unhealthy (fan speed 4)

Sleep Mode: When the Sleep Mode is selected, the lights will automatically turn off after a few seconds, and the fan speed is set to a minimum speed lower than speed 1. To exit Sleep Mode, simply select a different speed.

Onboard Controls: The AP-C500 has top-mounted controls that let you turn the power on/off, adjust the fan speed, and turn the lights on/off. The Light button doubles as a switch to turn Wi-Fi on/off.

Wi-Fi/Voice Control: The Smart Air Purifier can be connected to your home or office Wi-Fi network (2.4 GHz) through the free Homedics Home app. The app lets you connect all your home\’s smart air purifiers and humidifiers in one place. When connected, you can control the air purifier with your voice through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant-enabled devices. The Homedics Home app is compatible with iPhone and iPod touch (requires iOS 11.0 or later), and with Android devices (requires Android 6.0 and up).
