Overview: The Withings Thermo is a smart temporal thermometer that wirelessly connects to your smartphone or tablet (via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth) and logs the readings on the Withings Health Mate app. Thermo is suitable for adults, children, and babies (except preemies). Taking a temperature measurement is as simple as pressing the button and scanning the sensor end across the forehead, starting in the center. The device can be held up to 1/2 inch away from the skin; no direct contact is necessary. The temperature appears in the dot matrix display, and you can assign the reading to one of the registered users. A color LED indicates at a glance whether or not the patient has a fever, based on the temperature and the user\’s age. You can review the last five measurements in the past 72 hours on the device, or review all readings on the app. Thermo is powered by two AAA alkaline batteries (included), and comes with a protective rubber cap. The device measures 1.31" in diameter and 4.661" in length, and weighs 2.6 ounces.

Technology: Thermo provides highly accurate temperature readings, due to its 16 infrared sensors. The sensors take 2000 temperature measurements per second and displays the numeric reading on the dot matrix display. The temperature range is 95.9°-107.6° Farenheit with an accuracy of 0.4° (Celsius range is 35.5°C-42°C with 0.2°C accuracy.)

Health Mate App: Device setup includes selecting one or more available 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi networks (preferred), or pairing via Bluetooth (2.4 GHz only). You\’ll need to download the Withings Health Mate app to your iOS or Android device. The app is compatible with iOS devices with version 14.0 or later, or Android devices running the Android app (version varies with device). Profiles for each person in the household can be added to your account (up to 8 total), and each time a temperature measurement is taken, it can be assigned to the appropriate person. Extra information can be added to each reading, such as symptoms, medicine, or extra comments. You can also add photos to the timeline, in case of a strange rash, or simply a relevant photo of the patient. The app will also remind you when it\’s time to take another reading.
