Overview: The ELAC Protek PB-62W is a strip-style surge protector with 6 AC outlets. Two of the 6 AC outlets are arranged on one end, spaced apart from the other four, to accommodate the wider "wall wart" AC adapters. Two other outlets are designated as "always on." The low-profile surge protector is only 1-3/8" high, and has a 6-foot power cable. The wall plug is angled so it protrudes only 5/8" from the wall when plugged in. The PB-62W has a black top panel and a white bottom panel and power cord. The PB-6W is covered by a limited lifetime warranty, and a $100,000 Connected Equipment Guarantee.

Surge Protection: The Protek Surge Protector keeps your electronic devices safe from devastating power surges caused by lightning or power outages. Its internal technology provides up to 540 joules of surge protection with a 1 nanosecond (1 billionth of a second) response time. It has a maximum spike current rating of 36,000A or 6 KV (6000 volts). It has a fire-retardant ceramic casing and a high temperature resistance. It features L-N, L-G, N-G protection modes and Thermal Fusing. When the Surge Protector is operating properly and prevents an energy surge from damaging electrical equipment, the surge protective component will disconnect from the circuit, and the product will need to be replaced. The surge protector has a top panel LED that glows to indicate when your plugged-in devices are protected.

Wi-Fi: The PB-62W is equipped with Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz band) for connecting to your home network and the ELAC Protek app on your smartphone or tablet. The app allows you to remotely set schedules, countdown timers, and turn on or off the four controllable AC outlets. The two "Always On" outlets cannot be controlled.

ELAC Protek App: The ELAC Protek app is required for controlling Wi-Fi-compatible models. The mobile app is available for Android (4.4 and up) and Apple iOS 10.0 or later. You can also use the ELAC Protek app on your PC (Windows 7, 10, 11) or Mac (macOS 11.0 or later).

Voice Assistants: The four controllable outlets on the PB-62W can also be controlled by Amazon Alexa and the Google Assistant. Using your voice, you can turn the outlets on or off, or set a countdown timer.

Power Switch: The surge protector has a power switch on the top of the unit. A short press of the button turns the four controllable outlets on or off. If pressed for longer than 3 seconds, the unit will go into setup mode.

Always On Outlets: Two of the six AC outlets are constantly powered, and are not controllable by the power switch, the app, or by voice assistant.

Breaker Reset: The PB-62W has a built-in circuit breaker that protects the connected devices in case of excessive current (over 15A). The side-mounted reset button pops up when the breaker trips, and pressing it back down resets the surge protector.

EMI/RFI Filtering: In addition to protecting your devices from power surges and lightning strikes, the PB-62W filters EMI (electromagnetic interference) and RFI (radio frequency interference), reducing the noise by up to 40dB. EMI and RFI can adversely affect the performance of your electronic devices, including your A/V equipment.

Installation: The corded PB-62W plugs into a properly grounded AC wall outlet, and can be placed on the floor or wall-mounted. Two keyhole slots, spaced 4-1/2" apart, are provided on the bottom for mounting to the wall or inside a cabinet. No mounting hardware is included.

Connected Equipment Guarantee: The ELAC Protek PB-62W Surge Protector features a $100,000 Connected Equipment Guarantee. In the event that damage is caused to equipment while it is plugged into the covered Protek Surge Suppressor, and the damage is determined to have been caused by a defect in the suppressor\’s materials or workmanship, ELAC will repair, replace, or reimburse the customer for the value of the connected products.
