Features
Overview: The Yale Assure Lock 2 Key-Free Keypad with Wi-Fi (YRD430-WF1) is a smart lock that replaces your existing deadbolt door lock. It includes a 10-digit keypad, and offers multiple ways to lock and unlock, including through voice assistant, Auto-Unlock, and a smartphone app. The lock includes the Yale Smart Module, and DoorSense®, so you\’ll always know if the door is locked or unlocked, and open or closed. The lock replaces the existing deadbolt on most standard US entry doors, and requires only a screwdriver. The Assure Lock 2 is powered by 4 "AA" alkaline batteries (included), and is available in Black Suede, Satin Nickel, and Oil Rubbed Bronze.
Wi-Fi Compatible: The Assure Lock 2 supports 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi on the 2.4 GHz band through the included Smart Module. No hub or bridge is required, however, it will work with a Yale Connect Wi-Fi Bridge if you already have one. The lock connects to the Yale Access App via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, depending on which connection is available. If your Wi-Fi stops working, you can still open the lock by connecting over Bluetooth.
Door Compatibility: You can install the Yale Assure Lock 2 on doors with a thickness of 1-3/8" to 2-1/4". The door should have a backset distance of 2-3/8" or 2-3/4" (from the edge of the door to the center of the bore hole), with a face bore hole of 2-1/8" or 1-1/2" and an edge bore hole of 1".
Installation Overview: Once you have removed the existing door hardware, you should use the included template (in the Installation Guide) to be sure your door is compatible (thickness, backset placement, bore hole). The new deadbolt latch is installed in the bore hole, and the strike plate on the door frame. There are two components of the door lock — the external keypad, and the internal thumbturn lock. The external unit is mounted to the door and attached to the inside mounting plate on the other side with the provided bolts. (Note, there are three lengths to choose from based on the door thickness.) The two units plug together via the 10-pin cable attached to the keypad unit. The internal lock mounts to the mounting plate via pre-installed screws. Once the hardware is installed and tested mechanically, you can insert the Yale Smart Module and the 4 "AA" batteries into the slot in the battery compartment. Programming the Smart Lock involves setting the Master PIN and as many User PINs as you need.
Entry Codes: Once you setup the Assure Lock 2, you can create, use, update, and maintain entry codes using the Yale Access app. Entry codes can be between 4 and 6 digits. The Assure Lock 2 can hold up to 250 entry codes within the Yale Access app.
Access Options: There are multiple ways to unlock your Assure Lock 2: use the keypad to enter your access code, use the Yale Access app, voice commands to your Voice Assistant, or Auto-Unlock.
DoorSense: The DoorSense module uses magnetic fields to determine whether your door is open or closed. It can be installed on the door frame surface, or flush mounted into a drilled 5/8" diameter x 1/2" deep hole, and within 1.5" of the lock\’s Smart Module.
Auto-Lock: The Auto-Lock feature automatically locks your door for you. It can be set to lock on a timer between 30 seconds and 30 minutes. When used with DoorSense, the door will not lock until it is in the closed position. The parameters of Auto-Lock are programmed in the Yale Access App.
Auto-Unlock: Auto-Unlock automatically unlocks the door as you approach your door without having to touch the keypad or your phone. The feature uses Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and GPS technologies to sense when you\’re nearby. The Yale Access app uses Home and Away status to enable and disable Auto-Unlock. When you have traveled more than 200 meters from your home, the app goes into Away Mode and waits until you return home. When you are within 200 meters, your phone starts looking for the lock. When you\’re within 20-30 feet, and the app detects the lock, the door will Auto-Unlock and the app goes into Home Mode.
Yale Access App: The Yale Assure Lock 2 works hand-in-hand with the Yale Access App. You can perform the initial setup with the app, including creating entry codes and programming Auto-Lock and Auto-Unlock. The app sends real-time notifications to let you know when your door is unlocked or locked, and who had access. You can also manage your Yale Delivery Box or Smart Cabinet Lock from the app, as well. The app is compatible with Apple iPhone and iPod touch (iOS 14.0 or later) and Apple Watch. It also works with Android devices running Android 8.0 and up.
Voice Assistants: The Yale Assure Lock 2 with Wi-Fi can be accessed via voice commands through Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Apple HomeKit (Siri).
Battery Override: When battery power is low, the keypad\’s LED indicator will flash blue, and the gear button on the keypad will flash amber or red. Should you completely lose battery power, you can touch a 9-volt battery to the Battery Override terminals on the bottom of the keypad to wake up the lock, enter your PIN, and unlock the door. Once inside, you can replace the four AA batteries in the indoor unit.
Warranty: The Yale Real Living Assure Lock 2 is covered by a Limited Lifetime warranty for the finish and mechanical operation of the lock. The electronics are covered for one year. These warranties apply to the original owner only.
