Features
Overview: The SoloCam S220 is a compact security camera that can be used as a standalone unit, or as part of a multi-camera system. The camera produces detailed 2K video, and has an integrated solar panel that keeps the battery charged. The camera has 8 GB on onboard storage, and can be paired with the optional HomeBase 3 for additional storage. The camera\’s dimensions are: Width 3-1/8", Height 2", Length 3-13/16"; Weight 11.2 ounces.
Camera Specifications: The SoloCam S220 can shoot video at 2K resolution (2560 x 1440). Its wide 135° viewing angle covers a wide area. Built-in artificial intelligence (AI) identifies human activity and focuses the camera on the human in the image. The camera can learn human faces and alert you when friends or family members approach your home (you must first register their faces in the system). The camera has a built-in microphone and speaker to let you communicate directly to visitors or intruders via 2-way audio.
Motion Detection: When the SoloCam S220 detects motion, it automatically starts a video recording and sends an alert to your phone through the eufy Security app. The passive IR sensor can detect moving objects up to 30 feet away. With face detection, you can label each individual so you can differentiate between family members and others. You can even define specific Activity Zones within the camera\’s view to reduce the number of false alerts.
Night Vision: Powerful infrared lights and a wide aperture lens provide reliable night vision to help capture more motion.
Solar Charging: The SoloCam S220 is equipped with a 6,500 mAh battery for approximately 90 days of reliable power. On the top is a 2-3/8" x 3-1/8" integrated 0.9-watt solar panel that keeps the battery charged. It can collect and store between 200 and 400 mAh in a day. The camera only needs approximately 3 hours of direct sunlight per day to stay charged all day. There\’s never a need to bring the camera inside to charge the battery.
Mounting: The SoloCam S220 should be mounted between 7 and 10 feet above the ground in a location that can provide at least 2 hours of direct sunlight per day. The screw-on mounting bracket is adjustable. The camera has an IP67 rating to withstand all types of weather, and can operate in temperatures between -4°F and 122°F (-20°C to 50°C).
Wi-Fi: The camera connects to your router via 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi with a range of up to 200 meters (656 feet).
Video Storage: The SoloCam S220 features 8 GB of local video storage on an embedded MultiMediaCard (eMMC) which can save up to 60 days of event-based recordings. There\’s no need to pay for cloud storage. The onboard storage is protected with AES 128-bit encryption, so your data remains private.
Optional HomeBase 3: The SoloCam S220 can be connected to the HomeBase 3 (sold separately). It is equipped with 16 GB of storage which can be expanded to up to 16 TB with the addition of an optional storage drive. HomeBase 3 uses military-grade AES-128 encryption to keep your videos safe and private. The system\’s ecosystem pulls together videos from all connected security devices (cameras, video doorbells, etc.), and constantly analyzes and catalogs the data without uploading anything to the cloud. Up to 16 cameras can be connected to HomeBase 3.
eufy Security App: The eufy Security app lets you view live video from your smartphone or tablet, plus engage the visitor or intruder through two-way audio. The app is compatible with Android devices running operating system 8.0 and up, and iOS devices running iOS 11.0 or later. The SoloCam S220 can be viewed on a web portal instead of your phone, on PCs (Windows 10 or 11), and on Macs running macOS 11.0 or later and a Mac with Apple M1 chip. Cloud storage can be purchased through the app, if desired, for $2.99 per month or $29.99 per year for one device.
Voice Assistants: The eufy SoloCam S220 can be connected to Amazon Alexa or the Google Assistant so you hear the audio alerts anywhere in your home. Smart displays, such as the Google Nest Hub or the Amazon Echo Show, can "show you the back yard" when asked by voice command, letting you view live video from the SoloCam.
