Features
Overview: The eufy RoboVac X8 Pro (Model T2266) is a combination robotic vacuum cleaner and mop. Its iPath™ Laser Navigation accurately scans your rooms and builds a virtual map of the floor layout, including obstacles to avoid. Twin turbines increase the overall airflow by 80%, compared to a single turbine, making it ideal for pet owners. The vacuum cleaner connects to your home Wi-Fi network and the Eufy Clean app (formerly the EufyHome app) to help you keep track of where it has cleaned. You can also control the X8 Pro through Alexa and Google Assistant voice commands. The vacuum cleaner is approximately 13-3/4" in diameter and 3-7/8" tall, and comes with a charging dock, a washable mopping cloth, and a cleaning tool.
Vacuum Cleaner: The X8 Pro is a self-propelled, automatic vacuum cleaner that travels around your room cleaning up dirt and debris. You can choose from several cleaning modes from the Eufy Clean app or the onboard controls. The top-mounted Laser Distance Sensor (LDS) and wall sensor help the RoboVac determine where the walls and obstacles are in the room. Four drop sensors watch out for stairs and other steep drops. One side brush and a roller brush sweep the dirt into the suction inlet on the bottom, while two turbines, each with 4000 Pa of suction, create a powerful airflow to pull the dirt into the vacuum. Dirt and debris are tightly packed into the dust collector, which has a capacity of 335ml. When the cleaning job is completed, the RoboVac returns automatically to the charging base. RoboVac X8 Pro is ideal for cleaning hardwood, tile, and laminate floors, as well as medium-pile carpets. It is not recommended for high-pile carpets or very dark-colored carpet. Available cleaning modes include:
- Auto Cleaning: Pressing the power button on the top of the unit starts the RoboVac in Auto Cleaning mode. This mode is also selectable in the Eufy Clean app. Auto Cleaning mode optimizes its cleaning path by selecting different cleaning modes automatically until cleaning is complete.
- Spot Cleaning: When intensive cleaning is needed, RoboVac sweeps in a zig-zag pattern in a 4.9\’ x 4.9\’ area. In the app, you can set a target point for the RoboVac to clean. If no target point is set, the unit will spot clean in its current location. You can activate Spot Cleaning in the Eufy Clean app, or press the designated button on the unit.
- Room Cleaning: After a map of your home is completed, your house is automatically divided into several rooms in the Eufy Clean app. You can also manually customize the room settings in the app. To start Room Cleaning mode, select the desired room in the app, and the RoboVac will clean only that room and return to the charging base.
Active Detangling: The X8 Pro features a patented Active Detangling Roller Brush to help keep the RoboVac clean and reduce maintenance time. During cleaning, the roller brush rotates forward to pick up hair from your floor or carpets. Occasionally, the vacuum will stop and rotate the roller brush backwards which pulls the bristles through a rubber comb-like structure, removing accumulated hair from the roller brush. This eliminates the need to manually clean the roller brush yourself. The Active Detangling Roller Brush works best with high suction, such as Turbo or Max mode. On carpets, you may need to turn on the Boost IQ feature for best results.
Mopping Mode: The RoboVac X8 Pro includes a 270ml (9.13 fl.oz.) water tank that snaps onto the back of the unit. The mopping system is designed for smooth, hard surfaces, and may not work well on uneven tiles, heavily waxed floors, or rough surfaces like brick or slate, which may snag the mopping pad. It is recommended that the floor be cleaned with RoboVac three times before running the mopping mode. During the Mopping Mode, the X8 Pro dispenses water at a steady flow, and has a flat mop that wipes the floor evenly. You can should use only eufy Hard Floor Cleaning Solution (available from the manufacturer) to the water, as other solutions may damage the water tank. The unit includes a washable mopping cloth made of nylon and polyester. While the unit is mopping, you can choose among three water levels via the eufy Clean app. The X8 Pro does not automatically recognize carpets, so you should set up a No-Mop Zone in the Eufy Clean app. The unit will automatically avoid designated No-Mop areas when mopping, but will continue to vacuum those areas.
iPath Laser Navigation: The RoboVac X8 uses iPath Laser Navigation to clean in a Z-shaped path. With the SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) Algorithm, RoboVac uses a lidar sensor to scan the surroundings, create a map, navigate, and clean the floors, all at the same time. iPath also enables the vacuum to save multiple maps to use for future cleaning sessions.
Mapping: After letting the RoboVac X8 Pro fully charge, you can start the initial Auto Cleaning cycle. The vacuum will roam your house, cleaning the floors as it goes, and return to the charging base. As it travels, the onboard Laser Distance Sensor, wall sensors, and drop sensors will create and save a virtual map of your home, with the rooms divided accordingly. With A.I.Map™ 2.0, accurate maps of your home are created to efficiently clean a wide range of areas. During this initial cleaning, you should remove objects that may interfere with the RoboVac, and open the doors to the rooms you want cleaned. It is important not to move the RoboVac, or control it manually, while it is cleaning and mapping. For areas near fireplaces or air vents, you should put down Boundary Strips, available from the manufacturer, to prevent the vacuum from crossing into those areas. You can also set up Virtual Walls and No-go Zones in the app for areas you do not want the RoboVac to go. If you have floors on muliple levels to clean, the RoboVac can clean and map out the floors and save up to 5 maps in the Eufy Clean app, and locally on the machine. The app\’s Multi-map Saving switch should be turned on, otherwise, only one map can be saved locally on the machine.
Precautions: RoboVac X8 Pro is not recommended for cleaning in wet areas. Power cords on the floor in the should be bundled up with wire ties to prevent entanglement. You should fold tassled edges of area rugs underneath to prevent them from getting tangled in RoboVac\’s brushes. Areas with clearances under 4" should be blocked with a physical barrier to prevent RoboVac from getting stuck. Anti-drop sensors will prevent RoboVac from tumbling down stairs or steep drops. Sensors become less effective when they get dirty, or if used on carpeted, reflective, or very dark floors. A boundary strip should be used in those cases.
Voice Alerts: RoboVac X8 Pro is equipped with several Voice Alerts that will notify you when RoboVac has a problem. Many of the voice alerts are prompted by an impediment preventing the vacuum to move (front bumper stuck, wheel stuck, device trapped, wheel suspended). Other voice prompts involve battery issues (low battery, charging base is blocked, battery error). The Voice Alerts will continue periodically until the issue is resolved.
Suction Power: RoboVac has two turbine motors, each with 4000Pa (Pascal) of suction power (8000 Pa total) at its highest setting to pull dirt into the dust chamber. There are four power levels: Quiet, Standard, Turbo, and Maximum. When BoostIQ is enabled in the Eufy Clean app, the RoboVac will automatically increase the suction power if it detects more power is needed for effective cleaning. BoostIQ is ideal for hard-to-sweep messes or thicker carpets.
Noise Levels: The noise level of the X8 Pro is relatively low. During operation in the Max mode the noise level is approximately 62.5dB, which is a bit louder than normal conversation. When the Boost IQ feature is activated, the noise level in Max mode increases to 64.2dB. The unit has a Quiet Mode, if you are sensitive to noise, emitting a noise level of around 60dB.
Eufy Clean App: The RoboVac X8 Pro is equipped with Wi-Fi (802.11b/g/n – 2.4GHz band). The Eufy Clean app (formerly known as the EufyHome app) lets you control the RoboVac with your smartphone or tablet. With the app, you can start, pause, and stop cleaning. You can also schedule RoboVac to start cleaning at a particular time, or regularly clean on a schedule. The Eufy Clean app is available from Google Play for Android devies 5.0 and up, and from the App Store for iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch running iOS 11.0 or later.
Voice Assistant Control: RoboVac X8 Pro can be controlled with voice commands if you have Amazon Alexa or the Google Assistant.
Rechargeable Battery: RoboVac has a 14.4-volt, 5200mAh Lithium-Ion rechargeable battery. The battery charges whenever the vacuum cleaner is docked in the Charging Base (Model T29D1). The Charging Base should be placed on a level surface and against a wall. Objects should be removed within an area 1.6 feet to either side and 4.9 feet in front of the opening of the Charging Base. Two charging pins on the bottom of the vacuum cleaner contact the charging contacts on the Charging Base when docked. The RoboVac automatically returns to the Charging Base at the end of a cleaning cycle, or when the battery is running low (< 18%). An exhausted battery is fully charged in approximately 5-1/2 hours. Fully charged, the RoboVac can clean for up to approximately 180 minutes. The battery life is reduced whenever the higher power modes are used.
Regular Maintenance: Regular maintenance will improve the performance and extend the life of the RoboVac. A handy cleaning tool is included to help remove hair and other debris from the vacuum cleaner\’s brushes. The dust collector, water tank, and washable mopping cloth should be cleaned after each use. The rolling brush and filter should be cleaned once a week. The side brush, brush guard, sensors, charging pins, and swivel wheel should all be cleaned once every month.
