Overview: The Sennheiser TV Clear Set 2 (119-3016-P810) lets you enjoy TV sound clearly and at the volume you choose. These specially-designed true wireless earbuds have a transmitter that connects to your TV and wirelessly streams the sound up to 50 feet away. You can also pair the earbuds to your smartphone via Bluetooth to stream music or make phone calls. The TV Clear Set 2 includes a charging case, three sizes of ear tips, the TV Clear 2 transmitter, and various connecting cables.

Earbuds: The TV Clear 2 earbuds (TVC2-EB) are true wireless stereo earbuds that fit into the ear canal. They feature 6mm transducers for clear dynamic sound. Each earbud is equipped with a 69 mAh Lithium-ion rechargeable battery which recharge in the included charging case (TVC2-C). The two built-in microphones on each earbud are used for phone calls, and one for the Ambient Awareness function.

Charging Case: The earbuds charge inside the Charging Case when they\’re not in use. The charging case has a built-in 490 mAh Lithium-ion rechargeable battery which can be charged via the included USB-C cable in approximately two hours. The case is also compatible with Qi Wireless Charging, and fully charge in about 3 hours when placed on a Qi-compatible charging pad.

TV Clear Transmitter 2: The TV Clear Set 2 can connect to any TV through the TV Clear Transmitter 2, either through an analog or optical cable. The TV Clear Transmitter 2 uses a proprietary 2.4 GHz transmission technology optimized for low latency and low current consumption. It has a range of approximately 50 feet. The transmitter comes with a 1 meter USB power cable, and can be plugged into the TV\’s USB-A port or ans external USB power adapter (5V 0.5A minimum).

Bluetooth: The earbuds can also be connected via Bluetooth (ver. 4.2) to your smartphone for streaming music or making phone calls. The range of the Bluetooth connection is 33 feet. Phone calls via Bluetooth take priority over sound streaming from the TV Clear Transmitter 2. If a call comes in while you are streaming TV sound, the ringtone will be heard in the earbuds, allowing you to accept the call.

Dolby 5.1: TV Clear Set 2 supports Dolby 5.1 from the optical output of your TV for a robust streaming experience.

Earbud Controls: The earbuds feature two types of onboard controls for activating various features. Each earbud has a physical button in the center for raising or lowering the volume and adjusting the Speech Clarity feature. The frame surrounding the buttons contains a touch sensitive surface. By default, a double-tap on the touch control area of the right earbud is toggling the Ambient Aware function on and off, while the left earbud\’s touch control pauses and resumes music playback. The functions of each touch control area are configurable in the Sennheiser TV Clear app. The control button functions are not configurable. The controls are only active when the earbuds are correctly inserted into the ear.

Primary/Secondary Earbuds: When you remove the earbuds from the charging case, the primary and secondary earbuds are established. The Primary earbud is the one removed from the charging case first, and the secondary is the last one removed. During phone calls, your voice is picked up by the primary earbud\’s microphones. When the primary earbud is placed back into the charging case, the other earbud becomes the primary one. There may be an interrupution of a few seconds as the earbuds switch.

Speech Clarity: While you are streaming or speaking on a phone call, you can adjust the Speech Clarity settings. There are five levels to choose from, each with increasing levels of high frequency sounds to clarify speech. To increase clarity, press and hold the control button on the right earbud. To reduce the sharpness of the sound, press and hold the button on the left earbud. You can similarly raise and lower the volume with short presses. When the earbuds are powered off, the volume and Speech Clarity settings are automatically stored.

Noise Suppression/Ambient Aware: The TV Clear 2 earbuds come with three pairs of silicone ear adapters which create a seal at the opening of the ear canal. A good seal suppresses outside noise so you can hear the TV sound, your music, or phone call without distraction. However, there are times when you want to hear what\’s going on around you. The Ambient Awareness feature utilizes one microphone in each earbud, giving you the ability to hear ambient sound. You can carry on conversation or hear important announcements without removing the earbuds. You can turn Ambient Awareness on or off by double tapping the touch control on the right earbud. The Ambient Awareness level can be adjusted in the Sennheiser TV Clear app and saved in two presets.

Sennheiser TV Clear App: To optimize the use of your TV Clear Set 2, you\’ll need to download the Sennheiser TV Clear app to your smartphone or tablet. The app provides a guided tour for setup and configuring your earbuds, and allows you to set the Speech Clarity and Ambient Awareness levels to suit your preferences. In the app, you can check the battery status of each earbud, and configure the actions triggered by the touch control of each earbud. If you misplace one or more of your earbuds, you can use the app\’s "Find My Earbuds" feature to view where they were last connected to the app. The app alerts you when firmware updates are available for download to keep your earbuds up to date. The Sennheiser TV Clear app is available for iPhones running iOS 11.0 or later, and for Android phones with Android 6.0 and up. It is also available for Mac with macOS 11.0 and the Apple M1 chip or later.
