Overview: The NuvōMed Audible Infrared Thermometer (RN-50A) can measure body and surface temperatures without contact in seconds. Simply place the nozzle between 1" to 2" from the body or object and press the trigger to take a measurement. The temperature is shown on the unit\’s LCD display in large, segmented numerals in increments of 0.1 degrees. The thermometer is powered by two "AAA" batteries (included).

Modes: The thermometer can take body temperatures and the surface temperatures of objects. A 2-way switch on the side lets you select the measurement mode, Body or Object, to assure you get the best accuracy and proper measurement range. Body temperatures range from 89.6°F and 109.3°F for measuring humans or pets. In Object mode, you can measure the temperature of surfaces, liquids, food, or room temperature in a range from 32°F to 212°F. Temperature measurements are displayed in either Fahrenheit or Celsius (switchable).

Body Mode Measurements: When taking measurements in Body Mode, you should place the nozzle approximately 1" to 2" from the forehead or behind the ear lobe.

Calibration: Before measuring the body temperature, you should calibrate the infared thermometer to get stable and reliable results. First, test the body temperature using a conventional thermometer, then test with the IR thermometer. Using the Mode button and the + and – buttons, you should adjust the temperature reading to match the reading on the conventional thermometer, then test again.

Audio Prompts: After a reading is taken the Audible IR Thermometer will "announce" the result of the measurement (English only). There is also a beep sound to indicate a successful reading. If fever is present (>100.4°F in body mode), there will be a double beep.

Backlight Indicator: In Body mode, the backlight color will change to indicate normal or high temperature readings as follows:

• Normal (Green): 86°F – 99.3°F
• Elevated (Orange): 99.5°F – 100.2°F
• High (Red): 100.4°F – 109.2°F

Memory: The Infrared Thermometer will automatically store your readings after a temperature measurement, allowing you to view past readings. The memory will store up to 32 readings before overwriting the oldest readings.
