Features
Overview: The Lorex 4K Wired Video Doorbell (Model B862AJD-E) protects your entryway by letting you see who is at your door before you open it. With 4K video resolution, a head-to-toe viewing angle, and Night Vision, you\’ll have a clear view, even in low light. The Wired Video Doorbell is compatible with 16V-24V AC existing doorbell wiring and works with both traditional mechanical or electronic digital chimes. The package includes a doorbell chime kit, and a 32 GB microSD card for storing your recorded video clips. You can view live video and recorded clips on the Lorex App, and answer the door, even if you\’re not at home. The camera is compatible with Amazon Alexa and the Google Assistant. Doorbell dimensions: Width 1.784", Height 5.151", Depth 0.971"; Weight: 4.3 ounces.
Doorbell Camera: The 4K Wired Video Doorbell produces beautiful 4K video in a vertical aspect ratio (9:16) with a resolution of 2160 x 3840. The orientation provides a better head-to-toe view of the area in front of your door than a 4:3 aspect ratio found on some video doorbells. The camera produces video that fits perfectly into the standard smartphone screen in portrait mode. There are four video modes to choose from: 4K, 2K, 1080p, and 720p. The camera also features WDR (Wide Dynamic Range), which automatically improves the images in poorly lit areas.
Lens: The camera lens has a 150° diagonal angle of view. The camera offers up to 8x digital zoom for a closer look.
Night Vision: The camera is equipped with high powered Infrared LEDs (850mm) with an IR Cut Filter to enable the camera to record in color in the dark.
Wi-Fi: The Video Doorbell connects to your home Wi-Fi network (802.11 b/g/n/ac) over the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz band. Proper operation requires a high-speed internet connection with a minimum upload speed of 10 Mbps.
Memory: The 4K Wired Video Doorbell has a 32 GB microSD memory card for safely storing recorded videos. You can upgrade the card to a maximum of 256 GB for more storage capacity. With local storage, you don\’t need to pay a monthly fee for cloud-based storage.
Quick Responses: You can record or select a pre-recorded voice message in the Lorex (formerly Lorex Home) app. If you\’re not able to come to the door when a visitor calls, you can play back one of the available Quick Responses from the app.
Deterrence / Night Light: On the bottom of the doorbell is a light that can be configured as a deterrence light with different color settings, or a night light to illuminate the door area. In the Lorex app, you can configure the LED color on the deterrence light or the doorbell status indicator (surrounding the doorbell button) according to the motion/person detection alert type. In Night Light mode, you can light up the area near the door when it gets dark.
Motion Detection: The 4K Video Doorbell offers Motion Detection to alert you of activity in front of your door. The camera uses AI to determine if a person has been spotted at your door, and will specifically issue a Person Detection notification. In the Lorex app, you can set the doorbell to recognize a vehicle, animal/pet, or a package, and alert you when the subject is detected.
Mounting: The doorbell comes with a bracket for surface-mounting. If you\’d like to change the angle of the doorbell to obtain a better view, two mounting wedges are included. The 15° horizontal wedge aims the doorbell camera left or right, while the 5° vertical mounting wedge aims it lower or higher. When you have determined the mounting location, you can mark the screw holes using the mounting bracket. Screws and wall anchors are provided for securing the bracket to the wall. Tools required for mounting the doorbell include a Phillips-head screwdriver and a power drill. A 1/4" drill bit is included. The 4K Wired Video Doorbell is IP65-certified weatherproof, and operates in extreme temperatures from -4° and +122°F (20°C to 50°C).
Wiring: The 4K Wired Video Doorbell requires existing 16-24 VAC wiring. If your house doesn\’t have this voltage, you will need a 16-24 VAC doorbell transformer. After turning off the power to the doorbell, you should connect the two wires to the two Phillips-head screws on the back of the doorbell. If the wiring is too short, you can extend the wiring with the two supplied 3" wire jumpers and wire nuts.
USB Power: If there is no existing doorbell wiring, the video doorbell can be powered using the included USB cable and a 5V-2A USB power supply (not included).
Chime Kit: You must first determine the type of doorbell chime you have: mechanical or electronic. If they are mechanical chimes, you will need to connect the supplied Chime Kit to the chime terminals.
Lorex App: The Lorex (formerly Lorex Home) app gives you easy access to recordings on your Lorex security camera or video doorbell. When your camera detects motion, you will receive an instant motion alert notification on your smartphone, allowing you to view live video on your device. Using the app, you can see and respond to a person at your door or on your property using two-way talk. The app lets you configure advanced motion detection functions and system settings. Access to your cameras and security system can be shared with family or friends, if desired. The Lorex app is compatible with Apple iPhone and iPod touch with iOS 10.0 or later. It also works with Apple TV (requires tvOS 9.0 or later) and a Mac with macOS 11.0 or later and Apple M1 chip or later. The app is also compatible with Android devices running version 5.0 and up.
Voice Assistants: The Lorex 4K Wired Video Doorbell can be linked with Amazon Alexa or the Google Assistant. Smart displays, such as the Google Nest Hub or the Amazon Echo Show, will show you the front door if you ask via voice command. The voice assistant can also answer the doorbell with a voice command.
