Overview: The Withings BPM Connect is a wireless blood pressure monitor that lets you keep track of your blood pressure. BPM Connect synchronizes with the Health Mate app via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, and lets you view your reports in one place. You can take your BP in the comfort of your home, or while traveling. This may help you detect masked hypertension, manage nocturnal hypertension, and avoid "white-coat syndrome." The cuff is designed for adults with an arm circumference of 9" to 17". When not testing, the cuff rolls up around the tube for easy storage. BPM Connect provides an accurate measurement of your BP and heart rate, with an easy-to-understand color-coded analysis. The device is powered by a rechargeable battery with a 2-month battery life between charges.

Health Mate App: BPM Connect connects wirelessly via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to the Health Mate app. Wi-Fi is the preferred connection method, as you do not have to have your smartphone or tablet next to you while you test your blood pressure and heart rate. The data syncs automatically via your home Wi-Fi network. The app is compatible with iPhone and iPad running iOS 10.0 or later. It works with the Apple watch with watchOS version 3.0 or later. The app is also available for Android devices (version varies with device). The app lets you create a health journal that you can use to keep track of your health. The iOS version also lets you share your data with your doctor.

Procedure: BPM Connect should be used on the upper portion of your left arm. The cuff goes around your arm with the tube positioned against your inner arm. With your arm on a table, level with your heart, you can select a simple measurement (BP) or a triple measurement (BPx3). The test begins when you press the button, and the cuff automatically inflates with a controlled release. At the end of the measurement, results are displayed on the dot matrix screen on the BPM Connect. You will need to attribute the measurement to the correct user\’s name, as chosen in the setup procedure. Up to 8 users can use the app and store readings. Your systolic and diastolic blood pressure readings are then sent wirelessly to the Health Mate app. The reading will be accompanied by a color coded LED indicator to help you understand your results (Green-normal, Yellow-prehypertension or Stage 1 hypertension, Red (Stage 2 hypertension or Hypertensive Crisis). In the Health Mate app, you can view your full history of BP and heart rate measurements taken with the device. In the iOS version, an in-app purchase of Hy-Result (currently $4.99) helps you understand your readings and share them with your doctor, if desired.
